Steve Hillary Memorial Ride - July 23

Post by RoadWarrior »

It is coming up on a year since we lost our friend and I know many of us miss him (and his Raccoon eyes).

I think a get together is in order and I would like to organize a memorial ride for Saturday, July 23 in memory of Steve.

Rally point, Route and details to follow, I just want to book off the date so there is enough notice for everyone who would like to join us.

Rob and I are working out the details, likely meet at Casablanca Tim's morning of July 23, Niagara area ride, then back to our place in Beamsville for a bite to eat and rehydration. Details will be following.

Be patient on the details please, Rob and I are consulting so that we make it right, but it is still set for July 23, and it is looking like kickstands up at 10:00 at the Tim Hortons (Grimsby Casablanca exit and QEW), with a return to our place in Beamsville for around 14:30 for beverages and food.

Will get more details and a map posted when we are set, but if you are thinking of riding time to stick your hand up......

Holy Crapola - VTX is laughing his head off right now. Much longer in planning & the ride will be over before we get the details. @#!!%$ go to the 40 creek place for a warm up then to a waterfall or two (no more) then back for a cold one. Some of us got a 3 hour ride each way. - LOL, Us old farts are not looking forward to another 4 hours of riding when we get there! Me anyway.

Its not the ride, nor the route, it is to remember Steve. If I just sat around talking about the good times I had with him, that would be fine with me.

As Steve would say - " Just saying "
or

" just my two cents "

A stop at 40 Creek is necessary. What, Dave.. you don't wanna do the 8 hour ride (7:45 of walkin to waterfalls and 15 minutes of riding) again?

Nope. Didn't the last time. Sat on the bike (with a couple of other smart ones) and talked.

Just saying - LOL

Its the kiss method .

If the consensus is simpler and quicker we can do that, not a waterfall fan so there were none on the list. Start time the same, will check to see if we can meet at 40 Creek to head out rather than Tim's. They changed ownership, now they are big corporate, will have to see if they still do tours

New owner, yeah, but all the same people still there. John Hall still running the show, think they nailed him down for another 3 years or something.
